The Seven Incorporated Trades of Aberdeen celebrated a proud occasion on 1st July 2026 as three members were admitted as Burgesses of Trade:
- Kenny Groat – Hammermen
- Scott Smith – Hammermen
- Paul Hastings – Shoemaker
Becoming a Burgess of Trade is an important civic honour. It recognises a commitment to Aberdeen’s historic guild traditions and to the values of service, community and responsibility.
For centuries, Burgesses have played an important role in the life of the city. Today’s admissions continue that proud tradition.
We were also delighted to share the welcome and admission ceremony with the Aberdeen Burgesses of Guild. This joint occasion reflects our shared history and our commitment to preserving Aberdeen’s civic heritage.
The Deacon Convener was pleased to present these members for admission at a Full Council meeting. We congratulate Kenny, Scott and Paul on this achievement and look forward to seeing them continue the proud legacy of The Seven Incorporated Trades of Aberdeen.
