On the 1st September, the inaugural golf competition between the Burgess of the City and Royal Burgh of Aberdeen took place at Deeside Golf Club. Teams of 12 from the Burges of Trade and Guild enjoyed an afternoons golf, albeit somewhat wet at the start.
The Burgers of Guild won the afternoon team event and was presented with the new trophy.
