The Wrights and Coopers Incorporation of the Seven Trades of Aberdeen are delighted to continue their long association with North East Scotland College and to create a link with Robert Gordon University’s Scott Sutherland School by presenting awards to groups of very skilled students.
Congratulations to the following:
Jay Warrander for the Wrights & Coopers Advanced Craft Award for making the arched top doors
Katie Machray for the Wrights & Coopers Gordon Archibald Award who designed a triangular ribbed structure with a central runway. The modular design gives an optical illusion to draw the audience into the structure.
Anthony Mancini for the Wrights & Coopers Tom Ironside Award who designed a reclining style chair from plywood pieces with cut outs that allowed the board to be moulded to the structural component of the chair.
Paige Lovie for the Wrights & Coopers George Stevenson Award (award accepted by Jayne Mackie on behalf of Paige) who designed a café, shop and information area at Fyvie Castle utilising the existing potting shed and gardener’s bothy.
A special mention goes to all participating candidates for their efforts and contribution which made the Awards Ceremony a great success. Appreciation is also given to North East College Scotland and to Robert Gordon University for facilitating and all the employers and family members for attending.
