On Wednesday evening, the Aberdeen Tailors Incorporation hosted the third annual Tailors’ Professional Development Awards for HND Textiles students at NESCol.

Students showcased their work to an audience of more than 80 family members and guests, presenting PowerPoint displays, workbooks, and finished garments. Members of the Incorporation served as judges for the event.

This year’s theme was The Incorporated Trades, with student groups drawing inspiration from:

  • Bakers Incorporation (three entries)
  • Wrights & Coopers Incorporation (one entry)
  • Hammermen Incorporation (one entry)
  • Fleshers Incorporation (one entry)

Judging took place during the interval, and the winning group was announced as the team inspired by the Wrights & Coopers Incorporation.

Feedback overall from the evening was extremely positive, reinforcing the event’s place as a valued annual date in the trade’s calendar. The evening continues to strengthen support for local students as they progress in their further education.

The winning team will receive their certificate and financial award next week from Deacon Parkinson during a presentation at the college.
