Supporting Our Community- SAMH Changing Rooms Project

Last night, representatives from The Trades Widows Fund Charity and The Seven Incorporated Trades of Aberdeen were welcomed into the Players Lounge at Aberdeen Football Club for a deeply meaningful visit to the SAMH Changing Rooms Project.

SAMH (Scottish Action for Mental Health) is Scotland’s national mental health charity and has been supporting communities since 1923. The organisation focuses on improving mental wellbeing, challenging stigma, and providing person‑centred support through services in more than 60–70 communities across Scotland. Its mission includes creating positive social change, offering accessible mental‑health resources, and ensuring people can seek help where and when they need it.

The Changing Rooms initiative places wellbeing, connection and community at its core. It offers a safe, non‑judgemental space for honest conversations about mental health – somewhere individuals can talk, listen, and find strength together.

The Trades Widows Fund Charity was delighted to recently donate £4,460 in support of this vital work, and it was truly heart‑warming to witness the impact firsthand.

A huge thank‑you to the team for inviting us along and for introducing us to the inspiring community that continues to grow through Changing Rooms.
