The Aberdeen Tailors’ Incorporation is delighted to announce the success of its charity raffle held during the annual Dinner Dance in December. Thanks to the generosity of members and guests, a fantastic total of £1,360.00 was raised in aid of Grampian Deaf Children, a local organisation dedicated to supporting deaf and hard‑of‑hearing young people and their families across the region.
On 29th January 2026, Deacon D. N. Parkinson had the pleasure of meeting with representatives from Grampian Deaf Children to present the cheque on behalf of the Incorporation.
The Tailors’ Incorporation extends heartfelt thanks to everyone who purchased raffle tickets, donated prizes, and contributed to the evening’s success. This impressive total reflects the strong commitment within the Trades to supporting local causes and making a meaningful difference within the community.
Where The Charity Came From:
The charity was officially registered with OSCR at the end of 2024 as a new organisation (registration number SC053956). It was established following the closure of the previous charity, Grampian Deaf Children’s Society, which sadly dissolved after COVID-19. That organisation supported deaf children across the Grampian area for 15 years, and they are committed to building upon the strong foundations they created. They are also proud to be affiliated with the National Deaf Children’s Society.
Last year, one of their main projects was delivering a block of family British Sign Language classes for young children in collaboration with a Deaf Tutor. This year, they have arranged First Aid courses open to all families.

A great result for a fantastic charity – well done to all involved.
