  • 1922 – Born at Aberdeen, 3rd November.  Son of George Addison, cooper, and Agnes Banks Murison.
  • Educated at Robert Cordon’s College and Aberdeen University; BL 1949.
  • 1941-46 – War service with 128 (H) Field Regiment Royal Artillery
  • 1947 – Married at Aberdeen 23rd June to Mary Isobel Kean
  • Apprentice to John & W.G. Craigen, advocates, assistant and thereafter partner with that firm until October 1957.
  • 1957-63 – Principal legal adviser and mortgage manager to Malaya Borneo Building Society Ltd, Singapore & Malaysia
  • 1964 – Partner with Wilsone & Duffus, advocates
  • Technical assistant expert Ministry of Overseas Development in Malawi and Zambia 1963, 1967, 1969.
  • 1969-71 – Chairman Scottish Group Building Societies Institute
  • Secretary City of Aberdeen Savings Committee 1963-70 and chairman from 1970.
  • Chairman Grampian Region Savings Committee and vice-chairman National Savings Committee for Scotland from 1975.
  • Honorary secretary Aberdeen Branch Royal National Lifeboat Institu­tion 1965-74, chairman from 1974.
  • Member of the executive committee Scottish Lifeboat Council from 1965
  • Member RNLI Committee of Management from 1983.
  • 1966-75 – Secretary, Treasurer Victoria model lodging house, Aberdeen.
  • 1976 – Awarded an OBE
