  • 1902 – Apprenticed to John Thomson, advocate (1856) and James Ross, advocate (1864) (Adam, Thomson & Ross).
  • 1909 – January, Partner of Adam, Thomson & Ross
  • 1912 – Married Margaret Still in Aberdeen on 18th June.
  • Treasurer of the Burgh of Banchory.
  • 1934 – At a meeting of the Convener Court on 30th March, Mr Robert Adam, Advocate was unanimously appointed Joint Clerk and Assessor in succession to the late George WS Walker.
  • 1954 – At a meeting of the Convener Court on 29th September, Deacon Convener Daniel read a letter from Mr Robert Adam, Advocate, Aberdeen, tendering his resignation as Joint Clerk and Assessor. This was accepted with regret. The Deacon Convener informed that he had made enquiries and ascertained that Mr David TN Turner, Advocate in Aberdeen, a partner with Mr Adam in his firm of Adam, Thomson & Ross would be prepared to accept the appointment if offered.
