  • 1978 – Born in Stirling on 4th April.
  • 1983 – 95 – Educated at Newburgh Primary School and Ellon Academy.
  • 1995 – 2000 – Studied law at the University of Glasgow and the Glasgow Graduate School of Law.
  • 1999 – Graduated from the University of Glasgow with an LLB (Hons).
  • 2000 – Graduated from the Glasgow Graduate School of Law with a Diploma in Legal Practice.
  • 2000 – Joined Maclay Murray & Spens as a Trainee and became a Partner in 2010.
  • 2001 – Admitted as a solicitor in Scotland.
  • 2007 – Admitted as an Advocate in Aberdeen.
  • 2010 – At a meeting of the Convener Court on 14th June, Deacon Convener Nicol confirmed the resignation of John Stott as Joint Trades Clerk and Assessor.
  • Following the resignation of Mr John Stott, on the motion proposed, it was unanimously agreed to appoint Mr Malcolm Gunnyeon as Joint Clerk and Assessor with effect from this meeting.
  • Senior Tutor on the Diploma in Professional Legal Practice at the University of Aberdeen from 2011 to date.
  • 2014 – Resigned as Joint Trades Clerk & Assessor on 22nd October
