The 2013 golf outing was held at Alford Golf Club on Wednesday 1st August.
Fifteen members and three guests attended. The weather was warm and sunny for most of the afternoon and, although it dulled down a bit later on, we were fortunate not to have any more than a few spots of light rain. The course at Alford is ideally suited to an outing of mixed abilities golfers. It is not too long and quite forgiving but still sufficiently challenging to offer interest and rewards to the better player. As usual, the course was in excellent condition. It was a real pleasure to play and much enjoyed by all. The enjoyment continued over an excellent two-course supper efficiently and politely served in the friendly and relaxed ambience of the Alford Clubhouse.
The Littlejohn Trophy, awarded for the best individual stableford score, was won by Keith Campbell (Hammermen) and the Assessors Cup, awarded for the individual runner up, was won by Arthur George (Tailors).
The Team Cup was won by the Bakers with Michael Gillan, Duncan Love and Ian Brown being the players whose scores counted for this trophy.
Thanks are due to Keith Campbell, his guest Jim Lyon, and to Miller & Co. for their generous donations of prizes.
A good day was had by all !
