New Poetry Chapbook

On Sunday 10th March,  Albert Thomson of the Aberdeen Shoemakers Incorporation, launched his latest poetry chapbook at an event to commemorate the anniversary of Ukrainian national poet Taras Shevchenko.  It was an wonderful evening of poetry reading, dancing and music held by the Association of Ukrainians in Aberdeen.

Albert’s 26 page poetry chapbook Inspired by Shevchenko contains poems in English and Ukrainian.  Also included is a poem by Sheena Blackhall the Makar or Poet Laurate of North East Scotland.  The chapbooks are £5 plus £1.50 postage and all profits go the Association of Ukrainians in Aberdeen to help those displaced by war.  And by all profits, Albert means every penny of the £5 as the chapbook is sponsored by fellow Shoemaker, Mark McCue of McCue Wealth Management who covered all the printing costs.
