Kirk of St Nicholas

On the 14th of August 2024 Edinburgh Palette’s Chief Operating Officer, Iain Sneddon, met with Church of Scotland’s Reverend Ian Murray, to receive keys to the historic Kirk of St Nicholas in Aberdeen city centre.

Edinburgh Palette (soon to be named Scot Art) are an arts charity who have a reputation for sensitively breathing new life into buildings and creating multi-purpose community spaces. With this purchase they will preserve and promote the historic integrity of the Kirk whilst appreciating the significance of the Mither Kirk to Aberdonians.

The Seven Incorporated Trades are delighted to support this venture with their annual Kirking being held at the Kirk for well over 100 years. The Trades also have various poignant artefacts within the church making the Kirk of St Nicholas a building that is very important to Trinity Hall.

Master of Trades Hospital Ian A. MacIntosh joined with others who have close ties with the Kirk for the handover and presentation of the keys. A historical moment indeed!
